Having Discomfort After Westland Dental Crown Placement
It is quite normal to feel some discomfort immediately after a dental crown placement. It is probably because your tooth is simply getting used to life without much of its enamel.
In giving you a new dental crown, it is inevitable that I take away a lot of the enamel. Maybe even all of it. There will be an increase in sensitivity to friction, pressure and temperature changes. Hence there is the tingling feeling you get after the dental crown is affixed. A couple of days later, it will be gone.
Another post-procedure problem is that the crown may be taller than you want. It means the lab technical crew probably got it wrong in adhering to my instructions. It is easy to fix, though. You can ask me to simply file down the crown until we attain the correct level, or inform the lab technician that he or she needs to do the job again.
It may also be that everything about the crown, shape-wise, is wrong. The inner core of the dental crown that we built is a fraction over or under. There could also be a mistake with the crown's diameter, which means it can't go on to the stump of your tooth root that was made.
Fixing this depends on what the crown is made of. With a gold dental crown or a gold-porcelain hybrid, then it is a quick fix. The softness of gold makes it easily pliable, so we can put things right fairly quickly. Unlike porcelain dental crowns. By opting for these crowns, then there may be other complications when the technicians in the lab undertake the necessary changes.
