Telling your kids that they need braces could mean being confronted with a temper tantrum. They know that kids who wear braces get teased a lot and they sure don't want that to be them. Westland dentist Fotolia_8033909_XS.jpg

However, you know that it's what they really need. You know your child will be able to endure the punishment.

But that's not the way it has to be, since you can get invisible braces for them. In that case, no one will know that junior or juniorette has braces.

This is achieved with Westland braces. That's right, the Westland dentist uses Invisalign invisible braces. Aligners used in sequence push the teeth into the proper position. Each aligner is customized and made with the help of a computer. The aligners can be removed if necessary so tooth brushing is not affected.

Here is some information about the invisible braces process. Your Westland dentist devises a treatment schedule and requests the handmade aligners. During the next few months, the aligners are worn by your child and new ones are substituted every couple of weeks. Using this method, the teeth have no choice but to move into the right position. The length of treatment time hinges on if the condition of the teeth is bad or REALLY bad. You can estimate that the procedure will take one trip around the sun (that's a year). Whereas it takes about two years with conventional braces.

Many times an orthodontist will start a child off with braces and then over time when he discovers that the child is not cleaning his or her teeth properly, he will remove the braces. But if you have Invisalign braces, your child can take them off every time he brushes.

But hey, check this out! Westland braces can be put on less than the full mouth of teeth. A Westland dentist can put those puppies on your "two front teeth" or if you have some twisted teeth on the side. Conventional braces can't do that!
